Years of films and shows end up across a few drives. ReelStash turns that into a library you can browse and play from any browser in the house, on a machine you run yourself. The source is now public.

The repository holds the Go API, the React apps, the PostgreSQL migrations, the background workers, and the Docker files. Media, Admin, and Files are three apps built from the same frontend.

What you can run today

- Point it at local drives, a NAS, or a network share. Scans are incremental, read details with ffprobe, and pick up NFO files you already have.
- Posters, titles, and episode details come from TMDB. Anything it is unsure about waits in a review queue, and rename rules can put files where you want them.
- Playback is direct or HLS, with thumbnails, preview clips, and scrub sprites. Continue watching, Next up, and a countdown between episodes.
- Each person can set a default audio track and subtitles, so a Malayalam film opens with Malayalam audio.
- Manual playlists, plus smart ones filled from saved filters: unwatched, rated four and up, added this week.
- Separate libraries with per-user access, favourites, ratings, watch history, and recommendations.
- Scans, duplicate checks, and metadata matching run as jobs you can see — on demand, on a schedule, or when a file lands on a watched disk.
- Downloads stay in their own workspace. qBittorrent torrents can finish into a library and keep seeding.
- Metadata providers and sign-in methods are plugins. ReelStash installs, runs, and supervises them. Built-in accounts work on their own; the first visitor creates the admin. OpenID Connect, including Sweyam Auth, is a plugin.

Install

On a Linux or macOS machine with Docker:

```
wget -qO- https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Sweyam-in/reelstash/main/scripts/install.sh | sh
```

Read the script first if you prefer. Run it again in the same folder to update. It is plain HTTP, so put an HTTPS reverse proxy in front before exposing it outside your network. Details are in the install guide.

License

ReelStash is released under the GNU General Public License v3\. You can read the code, run it, change it, and share those changes under the same license.
